MathTalk
Built by Metroplex Voice Computing, MathTalk allows the user to recite any mathematics expressions and formulae, whether arithmetic, algebraic, trigonometric, calculus, statistics and many others more advanced, and have Dragon NaturallySpeaking recognize and act on them. This includes building graphs with your voice!
And now, MathTalk has voice commands to translate math into Braille using the Duxbury Braille Translator and the Nemeth Braille Converter!
MathTalk/SN
MathTalk/SN works with, and is bundled with, Scientific Notebook (SN), giving it over 600,000 combinations of voice commands. Scientific Notebook, powered by MuPad, has many functions and abilities, all of which are made available to MathTalk:
- Build graphs
- Evaluate expressions numerically
- Factor terms and formulae
- Combine and substitute terms
- Expand formulae
- Simplify equations
- Check equalities
- Solve expressions exactly
All this and much more can now be done using voice recitation. MathTalk/SN is designed for all levels of math, including engineering, governmental and scientific use.
MathTalk/SW
This version of MathTalk operates with, and is bundled with, Scientific WorkPlace. This gives it all the same abilities as MathTalk/SN plus it works with LaTeX, the industry standard for mathematics typesetting and hardcopy:
- Create, edit, and typeset mathematics and scientific text easily
- Integrate mathematics and text in the same environment
- Create cross references and footnotes easily
Requirements
The latest versions of MathTalk have the following software and hardware requirements:
- Nuance's Dragon NS 6 or greater
- A 650 megahertz CPU or faster
- A SoundBlaster or compatible soundcard
- 256 MB RAM (512 MB RAM if networked)
