Welcome Back
It's been a while since our last NGTVoice Newsletter went out, so welcome back from all of us at NGT! In the interim, we have updated our customer database and will hope to be able to send information of specific interest to our clients in the upcoming months.
Motion Computing LE1600 and LS800
We have posted product information about the new Motion LE1600 and LS800 tablet computers on our website. I've been using the LE1600 as my primary PC for the last three months and I'm very pleased. The patented "View Anywhere" display technology is very impressive- not only does it deliver a bright display viewable from acute angles; it delivers on the promise to allow viewing in bright light (including sunlight). While it does increase overall power consumption with the optional extended life battery (a design marvel in itself) I'm getting about 5 hours of battery life in use. There've been so many design improvements over its predecessor the M1400 it's hard to list them, but they include things like improved wireless, a terrific fingerprint reader, and a vastly improved convertible keyboard/cover design. It's our opinion that for field agents (like meter readers, engineers, etc.) the incredibly small and versatile LS800 will sweep the market.
DNS Medical Consulting Services
Since our founding in 1993 NGT has provided consulting services in a largely regional capacity. With the increased acceptance of DNS Medical as a vital addition to EMR technologies we've begun providing consulting and implementation services for clients across the nation. High profile clients from as far away as Pennsylvania, Arizona, and Texas have become clients. Recent work has included integrating DNS Medical implementation with EMR applications like EPIC, Ibex/Pulse Check, Centricity Logician, All Meds, and more. With our extensive experience deploying and supporting speech recognition technologies in healthcare environments we are able to provide highly efficient services at manageable price points and help our clients achieve operational success with very rapid ROI.
CSUN, Conference on Technology and Persons with Disabilities
This year NGT is presenting twice at the CSUN Conference. The first presentation in conjunction with T&T Consultancy, Ltd. will be held on March 22 at 1:30 PM and will provide an overview of JSay technology; the second presentation in conjunction with Sue Martin, AT Specialist from the Birmingham VA Medical Center will be held on March 23 at 10:30 AM and is entitled "Teaching Individuals to Use Assistive Technology." We'll hope to have seen some of you there.
Swandi Chan, J-Say Product Specialist
We recently hired Ms. Swandi Chan to assist with infrastructure and support of the J-Say product line. Ms. Chan works Monday through Friday 8AM- 10:30 AM and other times by appointment. She can be reached by e-mail or by phone at 425-744-1100, ext. 17.
Mailing List Servers
It's worth noting that NGT participates in two mailing list servers on a regular basis, and wanted our clients to know about them. The first is for NaturallySpeaking as Assistive Technology and is hosted by the University of Washington. To subscribe, go to the web site and follow the directions within the forms. The second is for J-Say and is hosted by T&T Consultancy in the UK. To subscribe, send them a message and remember to keep the word "Subscribe" in the subject line. You will receive confirmation from the server indicating that you have been subscribed
VoicePro Desktops Support Intel Dual Core
We've recently introduced an update to our very successful custom desktop PCs marketed under the name of NGT VoicePro PC. Our new system design includes a new MSI motherboard supporting the Intel Dual Core processor with 2MB of onboard cache and supporting 800 MHz DDR RAM. This system design not only optimizes speech input technologies, but with the dual core processor is a real day to day workhorse. We have continued to build and support with the more modest HT processor, and would be pleased to provide a custom quote upon request.
We'd like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued patronage in support of Next Generation Technologies, Inc. We continue to strive to be a company that provides state-of-the-art technologies while remaining easy to do business with.
